The Golf & Country Club features a private, Tom Fazio-designed, 18-hole par-72 course-which is consistently rated among Florida's best-as well as a Clubhouse and facilities that includes dining rooms, meeting rooms, a pro shop, a fitness center, a pool, and a lighted tennis facility. Additional amenities in the Gateway community include a Commons Park, bike and fitness trails, and neighborhood swimming pools.

Located in the heart of Southwest Florida, Gateway is close to many attractions, including white sandy beaches, boating, fishing, nature preserves, historic sites and a soon-to-be-constructed Red Sox Stadium; the nearby Minnesota Twins Stadium is also a few minutes away. Gateway is the perfect place to raise a family or enjoy a relaxing retirement. Shopping at its best is available at nearby Gulf Coast Town Center and Coconut Point Mall. Both shopping centers include every store you could wish to visit and each houses large movie theaters. Gateway is also close to cultural centers, sporting venues, and excellent health care facilities, and is within easy access to Interstate 75, and the Southwest Florida International Airport. History of Gateway Golf & Country Club

In 1987, construction began on the Tom Fazio, 18 hole, par 72 Golf Course. And in 1988 Westinghouse Communities began construction of Gateway Golf and Country Club as the centerpiece to the Gateway Development. To ensure the highest quality experience, world-renowned architect Tom Fazio was contracted to design the golf course. The facility officially opened on January 1, 1989.

Mark Lye was hired as the Club's PGA Tour representative and the facility quickly became popular among golfers for the design and conditions. American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) selected Gateway to host two nationally recognized events. The Ben Hogan Tour (now Nationwide Tour) selected Gateway to host two tournaments, and Gateway was host to the Golf and Music Festival that attracted many top players and celebrities including; Jimmy Buffet, Glen Frey, Greg Norman, and Payne Stewart.

The course record at Gateway was set by PGA Tour Player Stephen Ames. His 64 was shot during the 1991 Ben Hogan Tournament.

On January 1, 2002, the ownership of Gateway Golf and Country Club transferred from the developer to the Members. In preparation for the turnover, several improvements were made by the developer including re-grassing the greens. After the turnover the Membership supplemented those efforts and invested in having the Clubhouse improved, the bunkers rebuilt, and the tees rebuilt.

Since its inception, Gateway has cultivated a culture of active recreation. Games and events are structured for social engagement and participation. The activity creates a vibrant lifestyle of friends and fun.

CLUBHOUSE

Drive up under the portico and as you enter the foyer, feel a sense of warmth and belonging. In the foyer, relax on comfortable leather couches while you wait for others in your dinner party, or visit over a glass of wine or champagne while your table is being prepared. Kitty, our hostess for many years, will greet you and escort you to your table in the Griffin Room.

If you prefer a more casual approach to dining, you can go through to our Grill Room or dine al fresco on the verandah, within striking distance of the 10th tee, and enjoy the ambiance of the lit fountain and beautiful sunsets.

No matter where you choose to dine, your gourmet meal will be delivered with impeccable service.

Other amenities found in the Clubhouse include men's and ladies' locker rooms for your convenience, a fully stocked pro-shop for all your golfing needs, and several meeting rooms for card games, yoga classes and other activities.

Gateway Golf & Country Club has one of the finest golf courses in Southwest Florida. Whether you are interested in golf, tennis, or dining and dancing, Gateway has it all. Experience our intimate Epicurean Dining; join friends at complimentary fitness clinics, water aerobics, computer, and yoga classes; or sign up for art classes. If you are competitive, enjoy our excellent tennis program or just have fun on the courts. Of course, most important of all, golfing is a pleasure on our highly rated Tom Fazio Signature Golf Course.

In keeping with other prestigious Clubs in the State of Florida, we limit our golf membership to 360. This enables our members and their guests to enjoy our Tom Fazio course with easy availability. Our Clubhouse (Social) membership enjoys the beauty of our course during the summer months and our Clubhouse and other facilities year-round.

Gateway Golf & Country Club has one of the finest golf courses in Southwest Florida. Our Country Club is owned and operated by the members; therefore, all income is used solely for the benefit of members, enabling us to offer the highest level of service and value.

There are currently seven membership categories: two equity, two non-equity, annual (one year only) trial golf or trial clubhouse memberships and an annual tennis membership:

If you are under 40 years of age, you can take advantage of our Junior Golf and Clubhouse memberships paying only 60% dues.

The Golf Membership amenities include:

• Play golf on a members only, Tom Fazio championship, 18-hole golf course, rated among Florida's best
• Cap of 360 members. Make tee times 7 days in advance and play when you want!
• Unlimited use of practice facilities including driving range, putting and chipping greens and two practice holes
• Complete tournament schedule
• Fitness Center and Tennis privileges
• Heated swimming pool and wading pool
• Casual & formal dining and numerous social functions

If golf is less important to you, but you desire the lifestyle and social amenities of a country club, consider joining as Equity Clubhouse or Non-Equity Clubhouse members.

The Clubhouse amenities include:

• Year-round Tennis and Fitness Center privileges
• Year-round access to heated swimming pool and wading pool
• Year-round social and dining privileges
• Extensive social calendar and programs
• 6 months (May - October) access to golf - pay cart fees only. Discounted greens fees in season--play are restricted during season.Junior tennis and golf programs available.

They also have a yearly tennis membership:

• Full use of tennis facilities to include clinics, lessons and league play
• Great after school program for children of all ages
