REALTORS® share a cooperative relationship with all real estate offices within our community. That means we can show you properties that are listed with us or any other companies in our area.
WORKING WITH A REALTOR® should be a productive and pleasant experience for you and your family. You should pick one REALTOR® which you are comfortable with, and work only with that one REALTOR® . This ensures the agent is working for your needs first, saves time from calling multiple offices. When you see properties advertised, and the one agent will keep a list of homes you have already seen to avoid looking at the same house twice. To be very basic, if you are loyal to one REALTOR® that REALTOR® will give you back the same level of loyalty when helping you purchase your next property.
The REALTOR®'s primary objective is to locate and help you purchase a house that meets your needs. He or she does this in a professional, efficient manner so that your purchase proceeds smoothly and your time is not wasted.
There are a few local "GROUND RULES" observed by members of the Fort Myers Association of REALTORS® which we want you to be aware:
We can show you ANY property listed by ANY Southwest Florida REALTOR®. In fact, most REALTORS®' sales are "co-op sales."
A very important point to remember is that your sales agent should accompany you "ACROSS THE THRESHOLD" of any new or existing home listed by another REALTOR®
This includes Sunday Open Houses as well as showings by appointment.
If you go to an Open House or a Builders Model Center without your sales Agent, be sure to follow these steps:
